Deck Suggestion Please

I am fairly inexperienced in the Audiophile world. I know some of the basics, however. I am looking for an honest to God truly quality deck with good clean sound. Looking to spend no more than $500. I don't care about DVD playing capability.

Some quality front component speakers to go along with it, I am looking at Boston Acoustics Pro50 5 1/4" components and for the rear not sure yet, the rear deck stock location size is 6"x9". Any suggestions please would be much appreciated.

Alright man ill help ya out cause i know how it is when ya first start out but a some good decks are alpine , some kenwood , pioneer , panasonic heres the brands you want to stay away from sony , dual and some others but as far as speakers go what are you looking to get out of em bass , sound quality list up some things man either put up here or Pm me ill be glad 2 help ya out

I am looking for quality sound. I will eventually have some sort of low end setup custom made for my trunk. (I can do glassing) I prefer hard solid low end, I don't like the sloppy sound I get from a bandpass. I prefer a sealed box. Usually 1.0 Cubic Ft to 1.25Cubic Ft.

Not my first setup, but I want to step it up. I normally don't stray from the typical consumer level Alpine/Pioneer decks. Currently in my beater I am using an Alpine CDA-9856. I'd just like to step it up in quality, specifically the deck and main sound speakers. I don't expect low bass from my door/rear deck. I do expect clear sound, clear rich highs, and solid clear rich mids. Just want to see what is out there. For the deck, front door components, and rear deck I have a budget of about $2000.

oh, and if you really want to roll big like a SQ freak, wait for the new zapco deck to come out. based on a denon which was claimed by many respectable names to be the best SQ deck made, just lacked voltage.

I looked at the Zapco site, saw what looked to be many really nice amps and some sound processors, no decks though. Also some speakers. High end companies like that would be nice, but I don't really want to go overboard. Well not to much anyway. I still have to be able to explain to my other half why I spent that type of cash on a car stereo. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Also, I live in the East Bay Area. Oakley Area.

it isnt out yet. i heard it is going to be in the 500ish range, which isnt bad at all.

I am looking at the Eclipse CD7000, Pioneer Premier DEH-P880PRS, and Pioneer Premier DEH-P980BT. I found the DEH-P980BT for $352.95 + Shipping on E-Bay, PEH-P880PRS for $267.97 + Shipping, and the Eclipse CD7000 for $454.00 + Shipping. I am really liking the P980BT and the P880PRS.

I like the CD7000, however I don't have a need for the pseudo-gps nav unit. So the extra cost for that to me is un-necessary.

So I am deciding now between the P880PRS and the P980BT. I like the bluetooth in the P980BT, it is a feature I can appreciate and will use in my vehicle on a daily basis. On the other hand, I am looking for quality audio. There was only one thing that stood out different between the P880PRS and the P980BT that was important. That was that the P880 has Dual (L/R) 16-Band Graphic EQ where as the P980 only has 16-Band Graphic EQ.

They both have the Auto-Tune feature, now does the dual L/R make a big difference in sound quality between the two or is it a mute point. I imagine either one would be a huge leap in quality over my middle of the road Alpine deck, however I would like to know how much of a difference the Dual 16-Band EQ will make over a standard 16-Band EQ

I am putting together a similar setup with the 880 and a set of OZ Matrix Elite 180CS components. You would want the 130CS comps if you need 5's for your mids, but the SQ of that setup should be astounding comparitively speaking. Other people could tell you more about why you should get the 880, but I know it is the way to go in a 3 way setup (tweeter, mid, & sub).

Sounds nice. Any links regarding this head unit?
