well i had a topic up in here about my d2205 5 channel that was shit strait out of the box. so i decided to get rid of that big hulking peice of shit, and go with another 5 channel. for now i got an old *** rf 501 pulling stand in duty in my girls car while i look for another 5 channel. so far i have been looking at the:

1.rockford fosgate "25 to life"

2. don't know where i'd find 1, but an e.d. 9.5

3. polks new 5 channel.

4. don't think its a 5 channel, but the memphis belle

5. older ppi my buddy gots, forgot model #.

so far to me the rockfords looking the best, and doesn't break my pocket at just under 5 bills.

never ran/knew anybody that ran polk before, so quality is unknown to me, however i noticed it had a scary resemblence to my directed d2206, in fact almost identical- my experience with the d2205 is making me strongly stray away from dei

the memphis looks nice, i'm sure its a power house, but at 7 bills + i don't think so.

The rockford is a better choice. but that memphis belle ain't bad either.

I have a 25 to Life Power 1000 and I purchased it when Sonic Electronix was selling them for $450 shipped //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Other than its huge *** size, it is a pretty good amp.

The only issue I had with it was that I had to reset the subwoofer gain after about 6 months of use due to the fact that I was getting increased sub output even though nothing had changed... After turning it down a bit, I haven't had any issues with the subwoofer gain.

Also, I don't know if that was an amp issue or if someone played with it when I had a factory recall taken care of by Ford..... They dinked with every setting on the radio, so I wouldn't be surprised of some a-hole played with the amp in the trunk either! I called the customer service department demanding to speak to the person who worked on my car and when they didn't get him, the poor lady got an earful from me! I am also going to slam them on the Ford survey too!
