Consider yourself lucky then. I used the original edead aka peel and seal, and the v2 both. Neither wanted to stick very well without heating. cant say that, but maybe like you said before, bad luck? not here to argue with you, just stating the fact that it does work and is much cheaper than second skin, etc.

 
Not trying to argue either. Just stating my opinion and personal experiences I had with it. People say they could never get original dynamat to stick.
