Dead motherboard? PC Guru's needed...

Getting back into it!
Well I recently moved from Denton to Austin, so anything could have happened to the PC. I hooked up the PC and monitor, all that good stuff... power up the PC and see the monitor is not receiving a signal, but has power (orange light never turns green). So I open up the case to make sure nothing is loose. I boot up the PC staring at the video card fan to see it jump then stop. The same thing happens to the motherboard fan. By the way, mobo is Abit NF7-s and vid. card is FX5950 Ultra. Everything else sounds and looks fine. Case fans spinning, PSU blowing, CPU fan spinning...

Any ideas? I'm not sure but doubt that the mobo is fried.

x8 on the power supply...

...however, make sure you have the connector plugged all the way into the motherboard. Same thing happened to me, would power on but would power off one hundred milliseconds later. Turned out that I hadn't plugged the power cable into the motherboard all the way...

Well just to re-iterate what has been said 10 times now. It's your PSU more than likely, but like the last poster said, reseat all cards and reset CMOS then try again. If not then go get a PSU.

Do you hear any beeping noises when you power up your computer? If so, how many beeps do you get, and are they short beeps, or long beeps?
VERY important.

During POST of your computer, it sends out a number of beeps and either in long or short tones. These when put together actually mean something... so make sure if your computer is beeping... to let us know.
