Dead CPU?

Yes, like I said, I am not a complete moron. I know how to hook computers up, and I have looked over the connections 107,352,254 times and they are all correct.
You never said up until right now that it was. I was just making sure. What size power supply do you have?

But is the motherboard exactly the same as the old one not all motherboards take the same ram.
Urgh, you are not listening. I put in the old motherboard and it didnt work either. That means the SAME EXACT board that just worked 20 minutes prior, no longer worked. Unless the brand new motherboard I bought was dead, and I killed my old board by taking it out killed it, it is not the motherboard.

Ok, you are right. But I know my connections are correct. One is an Antec 400W and the other is a Raidmax 600w. They both powered the PC fine before the new motherboard, so it is not the power supply.

possibly a compatibility issue. todays components are much more finicky than a few years ago. with the different fsb ratings of various cpus and rams it is easy to get a cpu/ram/mobo combo that wont work together or will work, but be very unstable

in the years i have built pc's i have never had a dead cpu, but i guess it could happen

if it were me i would take the cpu and try it in a known working pc

only other thing i would guess is you arent seating the HSF properly, but that would be hard to do over and over again

Ok, I dont wanna sound like a dick, but people need to READ!! I had this EXACT CPU working in a computer. I put it in a different computer and it did not work. I PUT IT BACK IN THE EXACT PC IT WORKED IN BEFORE, AND IT NO LONGER WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well you do sound like a dick, you have gotten an attitude with numerous people just trying to help so i am done

buy another cpu and try it out you cheap bastard. if you somehow fried the old cpu you are indeed a moron because that is VERY hard and even NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE to do

I have given others an attitude because they do not read the whole thread. They just assume I am some idiot that doesnt know anything. I mean, I dont blame them, since that is what 98% of the users on this forum are, but come on. I said it at least 4 times that I used the old motherboard after the new one and it still did not work. How can you expect me to keep a kind manner when 5 people come in and say the same thing when I already had said that wasnt the problem?

Yes we are trying to help and i have been working on computer sense age 8 and self taught ever sense.
I know you are trying to help. I dont need the same answer from 8 different people. And by the way, I guess you havent taught yourself how to use spell check yet? It is spelled since.

Ok well I figured out what was wrong with my router and got everything straightened out, then my computer decides to take a shiit. Ok, well a few weeks ago I bought a new motherboard and went to install it. When I got it all hooked up, I went to power it on, and no signal to the monitor, no beeps, but everything seemed to power up normally. The cpu fan, psu fan and Mobo lights came on though. So, I then hooked my old motherboard up and the same thing happened. I then proceeded to start with troubleshooting. Everything is seated how it should be, and connected properly. I have tried 2 different video cards, onboard video on both mobos, different ram in both mobos, different psu, different hard drive, everything. The only thing I cannot replace is the CPU, so I am guessing that is what is wrong, but I would rather not drop 150 bones on a new cpu if its not even going to fix the problem. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should try?
Ok, come on guys. Give me some credit. I am not a complete moron. CPU is an e7200, mobos are both gigabytes, i dont have the model numbers at the moment. Both are compatible with the CPU, I know that. The CPU is the ONLY thing I dont have 2 of, so I cant swap it out. Everything else I have replaced with KNOWN working components, and nothing.
I know 100% it is NOT the RAM. I had this computer running with the original motherboard, but when I put in the new mobo it didnt work. I hooked up the old motherboard, and it didnt work either. EVERYTHING I have tested with are either brand new, or worked in a previous machine(Ram, psu, hard drive, motherboard, video card, monitor), except for the CPU which is the only thing I do not have a way of testing.

I don't think there are pins on a socket 775 CPU, so maybe the ESD fuked it up?

Take it to a shop. let them determine for sure. You can throw money at it or keep dealing with people that can't read.

Okay i'm done I am trying to help this is not spelling class. This is let me try to help you out but if you want to be a dick fine. Oh and you probably did fry your cpu than you did wear a statick wrist band didn't you?

No, I did not wear a static wristband. This is another reason I am thinking I fried it. Although, I did touch grounded metal before touching anything.

And Turdferguson, you are correct, no pins, so it is not a bent pin or anything along those lines.

However, like mentioned above, cpu's are hard to kill. If they are bad, they are bad out of the box. I've sanded them, dipped them in alcohol, and dropped them out the window(long story).... never a problem.
