DD9917 - how much power?

As it sits, I have an Orion 1200d, and it would be run at 1.5 ohms, so it'd be roughly 1000w RMS going to this sub

My question stands

Is that ENTIRELY too small, or will it do okay for a daily?

Should I just pull it outta my butt, get rid of the 1200d and get a 2500d? But if I do that, I also need a new Alt do I not? As it stands, Batcap + Yellowtop is all that will be done...

Opinions, help...

I'm not competing, I'm just going for a pretty dern loud daily driver

1000watts should get it movin, but from there give here all you got.. when u get some more cash buy her a new BIG amp.

didnt you just get se's? and i dont think that 1000 watts would do it, thats more of the 3500 series' wattage.

Mabey if you had four Orion 2500D's on it but a 1000 watts to that woofer is a joke

yea that sub DEMANDS power.....one 2500d will get it pretty good but not to its potential at all.....why did u get that sub anyways....

Well, I'm still a kid, and I love my bass, since I bought my 2515's I've wanted a 9917 and could only dream of owning one, now that it was a possibility I jumped on it, with the 1200d it'll still get just as loud as the two SE 15's, more than likely...if not, oh well, It'll give me some pretty good bump until I get teh cash for a 2500d or stronger

I could also drop in another box for comps, should I ever decide to go that route
