my silence is deadly...
the 1508 has no where near 25mm of xmax, more like 15 or so. with every 1508 i bought new, they all needed a good bit of time to loosen up.
i have one in my wifes car that is about a year old and it gets down very well. i have a brand new one that is waiting for a 6th order home but decided to install it in the same box in the wifes car and for the moment it is no where near as loud as the older one and dose make a "weard" noise when pushed some.
like was said above, they really like somthing to load off of. if you can, install a plexi-glass "wall" about an inch above the woofer this will help quite a bit. once broken in, the 1508 will take your 1k with ease, the one in the wifes car is getting 1k+ from an mtx 81000d.
