I have never seen a pic with these beside each other. Thought others might like to see the physical difference between the two.

Both look nice
Yeah, hopefully the DD can produce some decent SQ. I dont expect it to sound as good as the W7 but hopefully close and hopefully louder. I know the W7 sounded great but I got this sub in 2005 and its fairly worn out. That DD has the carbon fiber dustcap.. just cant see it in the pic.

the W7 should perform better sealed...if you could get your hand on a 1008a it would be a close match sealed...I've never tested the 1508t's sealed.....Ported the 1508 will PWN the W7
Well its ported but the enclosure is built for the JL. After DD sub displacement its 1.15 cubic feet not including port displacement. The port is a 3" aeroport because thats all that will fit. It is at a 33hz tune. I was going to raise it to a 35-36hz tune for the DD. What do you think? I know it needs a larger port I have to use what I have. I will also have a JL 1000/1 powering this thing and realize I may have to go easy on it.

You'll need more port (1ft3 w/9sq in tuned to 33hz ) I had a guy try the same thing except he tune it to 40hz , the port velocity ( noise ) was horrible @ 200 watts rms ,

and you can buy about 3 1508s for the price of 1 w7
Fail on you

Car toys tent event, car toys was selling BNIB 8w7's with warranty for $150 bucks.

Not to mention regularly, used 8w7 can be had on ebay for around 140 bucks shipped

Not having that problem now with the 8W7 I had on 500W in the same enclosure. I am assuming the areoport is helping with the wind noise.

Geeze.. never seen that. I personally avoid used speakers because of past bad experiences dealing with ppl on ebay. Id pay 150$ for a new 8W7 quick.
