I would get the DD1508. They can take some power and they get loud and low in the right enclosure for what they are.

for the price the DD1508. I have 4 of them on an AQ2200.

These are 2 subs from opposite end of the spectrum. DD gets loud and can take some power, but JLs sound good and get kind of loud.

thats ****in cool! i just reconed an 8" hx2 and the spider got so loose the first night ****in thing is bottoming out. i have a 1cuft. box tuned to 34hz. the spider is pretty cheesy, rebuild kit from fosgate. i have an 8" AA, stiff as hell compared to the hx2. i was trying to determine which one to go with because i want an 8" that can get loud in my crew cab. i just bought a dd and i hope it'll deliver. the hx2 sounded good but it needs some stiffer spiders rather than one janky spider.

I like the JL. What power?

Sub 350-400w go with JL.

400+ DD is going to do more Damage. DD = louder and well built, JL has a clean sound, gets reasonably loud and is also well constructed.

I think out of the entire w7 line up

the 8" is by far the best.

Besides, not too many people have 8w7's

I have only seen two, where as the 1508's are getting as common as capacitors on craigslist

Loud isn't everything, or in my opinion much of anything.
