DC lvl5's

so im lookin for some new subs. not ready to purchase yet, but im hoping by late june/ july ill be able to pick something up.

anyway, i just got rid of my two 15" nightshades. ive been looking at the DC lvl5's. im thinking 2 15"s. now, im hoping there will be somebody out there thats heard both. will i be impressed with the LVl5's over the nightshades? that much of a difference or what? im not really sure what to expect with the lvl5's.

if not DC im thinking possibly DD, but then again ive still got at least another month and a half before ill be ready to pick something up. not really sure what kind of power ill be running yet. i guess whatever they can take daily. they'll be for daily use, not just burps.

i was just under a 150 on the TL with my nightshades on poor electrical. i never got back on the TL after i upgraded my electrical, but im pretty sure i was at the 150 mark.

if i was to pick up 2 lvl5's and had a good deal of power behind them do you think a 158.xx is achievable?

In a SPL box, maybe if you really know what you're doing...not in a ~35hz box though.

i only see a 158 with 2 18s with a wall without a wall 155

lol no. i dont have the SD3kd anymore and of course a new box. im thinknig possibly 2 sundown 3500s for power? thats just a thought though. im not just switching subs. im trying to pick subs first, then ill decide what i want to power them with.

the lv5s need 4-4500w to proforum there best each daily up to 20w on burps i own 4 lv4xl 12s

hmmmm, how about four 3kds. still no on the 158 if i dont wall it off and stick with the 15"s?

I've owned a NS 18" and my friend Andrew had 3 Level 5 18's...

The nightshade was a little cleaner but the level 5 was louder. Both are great subs but the level 5 will take more power and get louder..

2 15" LVL5s + 2 SAZ-3500s will be a bada*s daily setup, but i definately wouldn't expect a 158 by any means. If u doubled the cone area/power and had the right electrical/install its still a slim possibility of a 158.

 

Maybe if u had a full on SPL enclosure, but in a daily box no way. LVL5s are sum of the loudest subs out there that can still play music.

i compete in db drag ss 1-2 with 2 18s in a wall in a jeep cherokee its not easy to do a 158 without a wall with my dailly with 10k watts on 4 12s without a wall best i do is 155db with the wall my best is mid 165db

in all honestly id like to be able to put up a score like a 158 or such, but its not that big of a deal. like i said, this is more of a daily set up, but its still nice to be able to put up a big number when i want to.

i loved my nightshades. i was extremely happy with them, but after selling them off, if im gunna jump into another setup, id like to go bigger than last. would i be impressed with the two lvl5s on two 3500ds over the 2 nightshades off a single 3kd?
