i was told by rusty that with less then 4500w that the lv4xl will be louder because the lv5 takes more power so in the long run the lv4lx will be louder on 3000w

You should have held onto your subs and worked on your power, electrical and environment. Why do you think Jake could hit over 150 with one driver? It's not because he swapped it out for something else...

i definitely didn't sell them because i wanted something better. i was plenty happy with my nightshades. i just ran into a few problems and needed the money quick so i was pretty much forced to sell them.

now that i think im going to be able to build a new setup, id like to go with something a step up from what i just got rid of.

**edit** and yea im sure i could have done a lot better with what i had, but like i said, im not really big on numbers. there nice to be able to have and back you up, but again im a DD sooo.... they're not everything.

Ok, well, don't concern yourself too much with which sub 'gets loud over that sub'. Rather, concentrate on your enclosure and supply power. There will always be a shit-ton of subs available to you.

yea, i definitely understand that. its just if im spending the money, why not just have the potential to get louder. im not bashing the nightshades in anyway, they were awesome. thats why ill continue running sundown amps.

i was at that point though where i was used to them now. they were plenty loud, just not as "suprising" as when i first got them. which is obviously going to happen no matter what equipment im running. other ppl were still suprised and shaken up when they sat in my jeep, but id like to have that feeling as well too, so im looking for something that'll hopefully do that again.

Take a look at SnoopDan's setup and how he can swap out subs at random. You will notice they all hit high. It's not the sub but everything else around it.

Don't let me stop you from getting the DC units - that's not why I'm posting. I just don't want to see folks get let down because they think by changing drivers will fix everything.

Yea, those Nightshades will get plenty loud, probably one of the more power efficient woofers available. I don't see any other woofer getting louder on the power you listed.

lol, again, i didnt get rid of the nightshades because i wanted something louder. i got rid of them because i needed money at the moment. i was in a jam, and things are kinda sorta working out better than i had expected, so i may be able to get back in the game sooner than i had anticipated. i dont have anything else to improve upon right now. im ampless, batt less, box less. sure i could improve my mids/highs, but im looking to get my bass back first.
