Brand new lvl4 12s "on the way" What am I in for?

Im wondering, from the ppl who "have owned or own" lvl4s any pros or cons.... also I know they are rated @ 1000rms but what can they take

Ill prob only run them with 1000> but Id like to know

Thanks for the info guys

I have my Level 4 12" on an AQ1200d. It takes it no sweat for my daily jamz. Just have to make sure you don't throw too much for too long.

It's surprisingly musical. Local shop near me wanted a demo and said it killed any W7's they've installed for people. (I haven't heard a W7 on over 6 months so I won't throw in my opinion on this.)

Decent output and efficiency so it doesn't need more than the 1kish to get your ears going.

Safely you can run 1200-1400 with a clean signal no problem. lol

When going to make the box look to the slightly smaller than average box. The DC's love smaller boxes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

x2 to all of the above, esp about the smaller boxes, I had a LVL 4 18" in 5.5 cubic feet net tuned to 32hz off a Kicker KX1200.1 and it was wonderful, very musical and quite loud. Would not mind going back to the LVL 4s again myself.

My 12" is in 1.7ish after displacement and doing well. But yes, you can be like thor and blow people's mind with small box, big port, huge power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Yeah she gets pretty loud and tuned @ 32hz so she drops down a little bit.

You should really enjoy it. Great woofer for the money. Props to the Sound Lab //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Now I just am hunting to find some DC amps...hard to find //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Most people argue for or against break in. I honestly dont think there is a need for it. IA suggests 70% of xmax for 4 hours which is beating the shit on it. Set your gains and jam and youll notice it start to loosen up.
