dc lv4's or aq hdc 3's ?

yeap the dc lv4 10's will work great in 3.0cf. the number one question should be what kind of sound is he looking for. the aq is a great product from dj geared to be more punchy. the dc from rusty is a mid to low end beast. both have stellar customer service and product.

pretty sure he can do 3.5^3.......he definately wants 2 subs tho from what i gathered. I'd go with 1 BTL or HDC3 on that power

Hey! I just built a box for my buddy. We ended up getting a 4cft box in his 2000 Grand am. It did not fit through the opening so we pulled the seats down and fit it through there. I can get you the dimensions if you would like. You just have to build it short which is easy with 10's.

you are correct- it does depend on what your looking for. if your burping for big numbers smaller WITH MORE POWER will be louder. majority of scenarios bigger will be louder.

I like the idea of 2 SDC2.5's. I have a pair and they are LOUD, much much louder than my two type r's. They should perform well in 3.5 cubes

man, i left for 30 mins and got hella replies. i think i might be going with the hdc3 10 route. i mainly listen to rap and reggae if that helps some. i currently have 2 10" se's and there ok i just outgrew them and want something louder. im not very used to not having alot of room as i am going from a tahoe with 2 18 rlp's to 10's in a trunk style car. so i still need help with this, because me and bonesninja is trying to work something out. but right now its about a toss up. i listen to an hdc3 18 today and it sounded weird but i liked it, so im confused, because here in memphis, all people have is type r's and kicker l7's, so i dont get to listen to an whole selection of subs.

it sounded kinda hollow, if that makes since, he said its because of the high tuning, but the lows sounded hollow to me but it sounded good juss different.

I know what you mean. My lv4xl is the deepest sounding 10'' I've ever heard. Are you set on a pair of subs or would you consider a single 12''? A single 12'' lv4xl would be sick on that amp.

i just like the look of 2, i think i can get away with 2 12's. im leaning towards dc lv4's. u think they will sound good with 1.65 a peice ported 2 34hz???

I personally wouldn't put 12s in that small of a ported box, unless it was a Sundown Nightshade. The Nightshades are one of the only 12s (that I know of) that excell in that small of a box. You could give it a try though and see how you like it. My 10'' DC is in 1.7, but that's pretty big for a 10''.
