a couple of months ago i was going to buy a 12in xl from dc til i called them to ask about how stiff the spiders were compared to a digital designs 9500 series ( a subwoofer i have dealt with before ). as soon as i mentioned dd he was instantly mad. i mean he was pissed off. his attitude was bad enough that i hung up swearing that i would never run anything this jerk had anything to do with. i ended up buying a used 9512f off ebay instead. i honestly would have liked to try the xl but with customer service like that i never will.

Really? I've called them and asked for some info they didn't have on the site so he actually went and measured it for me, and then I asked about it compared to an AA Havoc and they gave me so pretty realistic comparisons. Basically saying the XL would get louder but the Havoc would sound better.

Oh really? I've never heard of Rusty yelling at anyone asking for help. I gotta call BS! Who did you talk to?

Theres only 3 people total that answer the phone, Rusty,his wife Ana, and Chris. As of last week Chris no longer works for DC.

If theres anything I can do to help ya out i.e. info pricing etc... I'll me more than happy to take care of ya

i know it wasn't Rusty, i am on car audio forums enough that i recognize that name. it was a dude i spoke too so it wasn't Ana. i guess that means it was Chris but i honestly don't remember him giving me a name at all.

i already have bought a subwoofer but i would be curious at the price's for a 12 inch xl and a 12in lvl 5 for future reference. don't know if i could ever bring myself to buy one now though.

i agreee with Rob. I love my 12" XL SPL

I just got a lvl 4 15 and its mean. If you put the subs in the right enclosure they should handle it fine.
