My teammate Dave Jennings did a 169.9 in Extreme 5-8 with them.. 6 of the 15"s

Arts sound chamber won SS 5-8 with them...

they are extremely powerful, but expensive..

169.9 DB thats pretty bad ***, but how can a car with 6 12's be pushing 173.2? Is there something im missing here? I'm not that smart i guess but i would have thought 6 monster *** 15's with *** loads of power would beat out 6 12's.

How does SPL work? isnt it the pressure you feel from teh subs and so forth? Shouldnt 6 fifteens put out a lot more SPL than 2 fifteens? i see people always talking about 150db with two fifteens so why is it that 6 only hits 169.9. just wondering as i really dont get it.

Ya know, for the price difference, the jbl crown amp looks quite tastey next to the 4kw. Do you contact jbl direct for those or can you go through any authorized jbl retailer?

SPL is on a logarithmic scale that means that 2 times the power only gives 3db and 2 times the cone area only gives 3 db

10 times the power only gives 10db

so 6 15's will only put out 4.5 db more than the 2 15's. That is idealy if nothing else changes

What were the 2 loudest subs there?

I noticed that the TRF kicked MAJOR ***.

I did not see any CSX's,and only 1 99xx pic.

The TRF motor looks mighty pretty.

I'll be honest.. there's no way to explain SPL competition to somebody that doesn't compete.. Theory is forgotten.. what's suppose to happen doesn't.. successful competitors must forget everything they've learned, and been told about normal audio usage....

db numbers are thrown around, and are pratically meaningless, and uncomparable to each other except for vehicles that ran the same day, on the same meter, in the same class...

Daves' van is the 3rd loudest vehicle in the world.. in his class.. everything else isn't germane to his score..

there were tons of every SPL type woofer there.. some work better than others..

absolutely no way to pick the loudest.. impossible..

all you can see, is which companies racked up the most wins..

Chris Norris did a 169.6 for 3rd in Extreme 9+...12 (?) TRF 10"s and 48 BD1500.1's

he was running 2 18's last i spoke to him he had said that 9-12 tens were going to be used. he was wanting to really move up (that roughly the same as the 18's did) but i realize they use upgraded mics and meters

i was up there at finals that sat., i didnt see u loyd, but thre was sum nice show cars one of my favorite was DB drives show car it was the lil honda with 6 12's in a wall behind the seat and dang that thing was poundin

lol i remember all the people with regular daily driver cars saying they were gonna get one when it was out LOL fookin thing weighs about the same as most of their sub boxxes with the subs in it too!! lol
