i am about to purchase a new set of mid-bass drivers and am trying to decide on which i want to do.

i will be going 3-way in the semi near future.

i am kind of leaning towards the 180 right now since i can fit them in my doors without cutting anything.

and in the future when i add the mid-range add another 7" and glass both 7" into my doors.

or

get the 225 and chop up my door to get them in now.

the 225 are about 97 shipped and the 180 are only 77

the difference in price doesnt mean much to me but the expense and work involved with working the panels is putting me off the 8" right now.

so what do you, the loyal patrons of ca.com think? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i guess the real question should be 1-8" or a pair of 7" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

well i went ahead and got the rs225 8"

hopefully i dont have to cut my door too much.

now i just need more amps to power everything active.

would this speaker do any better in a sealed space?

i am going to basically redo the whole bottom side of my panel and i could massage a sealed pod in there.

they should be here on friday so hopefully i can get them in before the competition on saturday.

Good choice on the 8"s they give great midbass. Your tweeters will be able to play low enough for them in a temporary 2-way setup too. They will need an enclosure as they tend to do better in small spaces.

that was what i am thinking but i am not sure what kind of volume to put it in.

i am not sure how much space i could get but i can include the whole map pocket area and that should give me a decent amount of space.

are yours ib or sealed?

and how much power are you giving them?
