Featured Dayton Audio Epique

There's always something so clean looking about single cab truck builds, idk why. Maybe cause I'm lazy and just plot the box and sub on the middle jump seat 🤣

Both setups looked clean AF

If I'm not Mistaken..

He had.
2 Dayton Subs..
then
4 Skar subs..

The Skar should have a lot more output..
I dont know shit about shit, but really curious on why Skar over CT Sounds......
From the hours, days, months of research ive done the smoke & mirrors make it appear that CT has a better product & cheaper....?
Alot are claiming CT Sounds offers better subs & your not paying inflatted skar pricing due to the name / following....
I truly am curious & intrigued....
I truly am curious about these budget ballers..

I usually see the opposite. Plus Skar is cheaper than CT Sounds for the most part

Looks like I have the pricing backwards, skarr cheaper but not by much....
But most reviews show the CT sounds better & worth the few extra $$..
Could be wrong, ive never heard any of them...

Why pay JL money....
JL is the BMW of car audio. Overpriced products that are intended to maximize profit margins from people who think "big dollar sign mean better "

Skar used to have a bad rep for their RMA process, customer service, and quality control. They've gotten better from what I've heard. On the other hand CT sounds did and still does have terrible customer service, or at least that's what I've gathered from others posts. I've used several of their products with no issues with any of the products from either brand so it could just be the loud minority of people, even if it's a mostly isolated incident.

It's like the people who refuse to eat at a restaurant chain ever again simply because they had a bad interaction with one employee at a single particular location out of thousands

Most companies have decent lines one way or another. Heck, Pioneer makes a decent sub for that matter. Skar has it's pluses at a given price points, but it's always a moving target.

There isn't going to be a huge difference between subs priced relatively similar for the most part. There are exceptions. The series 3 NVX VC series are pretty damn good for just under $200. They have just launched a pretty impressive setup in their XC series too.

That Epique is a fantastic sub, if you can make them fit. The daul 7" with the 4 PR's is an impressive little setup indeed.

At the end of the day, it's all about being in the hobby, staying on top of it and what is out there currently, comparatively.

The Si subs are really hard to beat at their respective pricing. JL is, well JL, overpriced but some of their drivers are considered the GOATs in their class too.

Most would kill to own one or two if they could afford them, I know I would. Have you ever heard the JL home theater subs? Holy $hit!

I always try to promote only that which I know or have heard personally, and that is quite a few over the last 30+ years.

At the end of the day, Dayton makes some great drivers in a many shapes and sizes and PE is a class act company to do business with.

The new Ultimaxx drivers are outstanding!

Figure the budget, the room available, application etc. and get recommends from all that have used them is the best advice I can give.

I find myself checking parts express whenever I need something. Their prices are good and the customer service is top notch. Plus it's hard to beat the 5 year warranty on the Dayton subs.

I get emails daily from PE.

I do have a Dayton Audio SP1000A running my home theater sub.

I also have the Dayton Audio DSP-408 and 4 Skar Audio VD-8's waiting to be installed in my next F150. The Atoto A6 Pro is in my Crown Vic.

Correct as far as the setups. Both I’m pressed me. I thought I would be ok with the Daytons but I guess the bass head in me came out and realized there was not enough output. They didn’t hit the lower bass notes like I was hoping. I could get them to bottom out easily it I am sure it was my fault due to tuning. I believe I was trying to get output from them they they were not able to produce. Would I do it again? Yes, but maybe when I’m 70 years old and don’t want to vibrate my dentures.
These Skar suns definitely hit lower notes and have my rear glass vibrating. To be honest i would say they are twice as loud, maybe not as clean as the Daytona but I think the trade off is definitely worth it.
