How would you compare a ported dayton 12 getting rms, to a type r 12'' getting rms, both at factory specs for ported box.

What model Dayton are we talking about here?

I've heard the "High Fidelity" version of that, and it sounds decent...if SPL is your goal, I'd go with the Type R, however. There's more of a wealth of information out there concerning that driver, you wouldn't need to experiment from scratch quite as much. But then again, don't expect anything stellar SQ-wise out of the R.

I'm going for SQ, however, I think I could get also the output i'm looking for from two of these subs.

I want something as loud, if not louder, then two sealed 10'' pionner premieres
