Dayton 10" Shallow Mounts - amp?

This is a very newb question..should I apologize in advance.

It states in the specs that its a Dual 4ohm Voicecoil...but its rating of 250rms was at 2ohms.

Would someone mind explaining that to me?

If I'm running x2 of these, should I look at amp ratings at 4ohm or 2ohms...or something different? How many watts would you recommend and at what ohm? (I will be using a professional installer so I don't screw this up)

if you run two and they are dual 4's...you'll need a 500 watt amp...either at 1ohm mono or 4 ohm mono or 2ohm stereo

Two channel amp with each channel capable of producing 250W @ 2 ohms.

Parts Express rates the subs power handling with the coils connected in parallel if the woofers are dvc units. thus the @2 ohm rating. Most if not all the speakers on the site that I've read specs on have been rated in this manner.

Power rating has nothing to do with how the coils are wired.

I'm not saying that it does, I'm stating that they (PE) rate the power handling of DVC drivers with the coils in parallel. Hence the OP's original confusion...

As long as you are judicious with the gain and volume knob, yes.
