Hi all,

I have always had problems understanding the difference and how all that works. I will make it simple and give you my question.

I have a phoenix gold xs2500 amp that is rated at:

4 ohm stereo 125w X 2

2 ohm stereo 250w X 2

4 ohm bridged 500w X 1

If I want to buy a alpine type-r sub, will this amp be good enough? And if so, which of the two type-r subs is more fit to my amp?

Thanks in advance.

fresh.

care to explain why so that I wouldn't have to bug you again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Again, thank you sooooo much.

i just got a svc 4 ohm Type R 12, they exist (or at least they did in the model year that I got)... why not go that route?
Because if he were to upgrade his amp later or decides to add another sub to his setup, he's very limited to what he can do then.

Get the dual 2 ohm. That way you can wire it at 4ohms now and if you upgrade your amp later, you can wire it to 1 ohm.

casue when u wire a daul 2 ohm sub in series, you get a 4 ohm load, wich is what your amp needs to give max power.
