Dad bought a P3 , Explain the fail.

After all my pleading he went and bought a Used RF P3 12 D4 off of fleabay. In a prefab sealed box. $116 shipped

I tried to steer him towards an end result of a decent sound system , i mean i already hooked him up with a old school soundstream 5 channel and infinity kappa's for all 4 doors , on his own accord he chose a killer new deck (excelon 494) , but when it came time for a sub he disappointed me. LOL.

He has 100 watts @ 4 ohms and 180 @ 2 ohms to play with. Now comes the part where you guys kick in and expose the fail factor. Post links to better subs , doesn't matter what size or brand , just a better sub for the cash. i tried to steer him toward a better deal for his money , he was insistent on a prefab carpeted box. And says he read all over some forum that the P3 was the best quality sub he could get for that kind of money. LOL. Probably read it on Dr subwoofer's forum. LMAO!!

All that really matters is if your Dad is happy with it. My old man would tell me to Eff off if I told him he was wrong for doing what he wanted.

really only thing wrong is lack of power. 500 watt sub and giving it 100. nothing wrong with under powering, but some subs need X amount to move decent

with the power i would have went with peerless xxls 12 which is only rated 175 so the 100 would be solid

He definitely needs more power. Of course you can't expect much with a 12" sub, sealed box, and 180 watts on tap.

yeah 116 for a p3 to a guy that just wants something extra? sounds fine to me. speaking of rockford. this idiot works at a local shop that deals rf. like they wholeheartedly belive that rf was made by god himself and passed down to us. he has 2 p3s in a prefab ported box on a punch1000 in a buick rendezvous. and he pulls up in front of the bar im at (and he showed it to me b4 to try to impress me...i was not) and it woulda been bumpin pretty good if he spent like 300 total but he spent 3700. and everyone at this bar knows me and my car...hell, everyone in downtown binghamton knows my system lol. and the ppl outside the bar were booing him and crap and i went over turned on the car and everything. opened my door and just played a 100-5 hz sweep and he drove away haha. sorry...long gey story.
