D6 vs. L7

For a small sealed enclosure which sub would perform better, Diamond Audio's D6 or Kicker's L7? Both being a 10in Sub running off of 500 watts rms.

I say to go with the L7's, I've had 2-12 L7's and 2- 15 L5's and they both have

been louder then I would have thought 2-12's or 2-15's to be

i have no experience with D6's..but for me L7's never didnt good in small enclosures..much less sealed.

the 2-12 L7's I had each one powered by a phoenix gold zx600ti, in a 1998

lincoln, and hit a 143db they were in a 1.75cuft ported box each.

I was louder then a eagle talon hatchback that are usaly louder then cars with a trunk, with 2-12w6v2's and a MA audio 3000 watt amp

the 12" D6 i had did pretty well in a 1.0 net cubic ft. enclosure. i'd choose it over the L7 because IMO it's a much cleaner sounding subwoofer. 500 rms should be pretty nice for the 10"

Yeah, I was leaning towards the D6 because I hear it does good in small sealed enclosure. But I have heard time and time again that the L7 puts out some bass. I am limited with space, so maybe I should go with the D6.

L7's are spl subs while the d6 is a sq sub, i'd take the d6 cause it will sound a shit load better and the build quality will be much much better than kicker.

i recently did an install with their 1kw amp on a D6 12 with some real nice sq stuff from butler and dls up front.

I run L7 12s in an escape with a modded 1501d in a 6.3 cubic foot enclosure tuned to 34 hz

I was very impressed with the sq i got from the d6 sub sealed, but it really doesn't get loud- not at all like the kickers would in an appropriate ported box (the kickers just sound awful in small sealed though).

I been told several times that the L7 doesn't sound good in a small sealed enclosure, so unless I run across another sub that will do good in a small sealed ensclosure, I am going to go with the D6.

u could always try the cvx in a small sealed box

another vote for cvx over l7

i actually have both a d6 and cvx both 10s

d6 in a ported and cvx in a small (.8 i believe) sealed. both in corian boxes.

the d6 sounds slightly better but the cvx actually does really well in sq (blows away my buddies l5).

for price, the d6 will be cheaper but the kicker sounds real nice in a small sealed with a little polyfill.

as a side note, i have them both together in the back of my quad cab dodge and they complement eachother really effin well.
