D or A/B and is there THAT much difference

as far as sub amps go.. the most important thing is damping factor, s/n ratio and efficiency.. since frequency response and slew rate are both generally not extremely important in most sub amps..

dampning factor in hte past has said to be not an issue, but with the low impedance high output and high b/l and drivers today its increasily important in subbass cone control.. the higher your back EMF the more damping you need.. also indectance after the signal passes can repesent how fast the signal takes to be induced/removed from the circuit.. now in days with a common 2500 watt class D and say 1 VERY high output driver. i would suggest if you want the best possible sound the df should be no less than 100@1ohm or 400 @4ohm..

now in full range amps where your going to cross the mids @80hz dampning factor is going to be much less important.. I don't really bother as long its at least 200@4ohm..
