Wouldnt the cvx like a sealed box more than the xxx?

I had an L7 15 and went to an XXX 15, both on 2kW and the L7 was actually louder to the ear on many songs. Also, my L7 spanked my XXX in SPL. The L7 got a 144.8, and the XXX got a 142.5.
The XXX was in 4 @ 33, and the L7 was in 4.5 @ 34. I bring up the L7 because the CVX is kinda like a round L7, so they're kind of like inbred cousins.

i feel you man......i just doubt the OP had the XXX's in right box given the statements he's made

the old xxx's worked well in either ported or sealed.

And yes, in a daily setup...I can see L7's getting louder than XXX's in similar installs. The L7/CVX's are more SPL oriented.

Were you not just laughing at a guy for him talking about owning a guy with a spl oriented sub against two SQ subs.

And now you are saying that the cvx's are more spl oriented?

I have not used any of them all I have used is the MT's and 9515's, but which one are they more oriented for?

ok again, both xxx's were sealed and the cvx was sealed.

Go look at the sealed results for the great 12 test. CVX is a MACHINE sealed.

the CVX will outperform the old 05 XXX sealed....

Sealed saves alot of space.... so you could throw in 2 cvx's in your car instead of one xxx. AND 2 cvx's can be had for the price of one xxx. Obviously cone area would win.

but even with 2 xxx's sealed the cvx was just as loud

That is why I posted this, the xxx would like a ported box as to the cvx would like a sealed, so that is why your tests showed that the xxx had the same output, you put the xxx in a ported box, just as the others have said then it will own the cvx.

If you do not have the room though, and you have to go sealed, then yes you should get a cvx instead of the xxx and you would get away with the same output with less power, if your tests are correct.

LMAO at the thread linked, I loved reading that.

I love my CVX, I have heard L7's and man they are sick for spl but lack SQ hardcore which is totally understandable becuase they were intended for SPL.

My CVX sounds awesome, plus its my first like powerful sub, compared to my old ones at 220 watts. However I was looking at the 15" 06XXX's and those seem to be low end monsters.

My CVX is ported at 4ft^3 at 32Hz and I was debating on getting a Sealed box for it but I really like how it sounds right now so im good.
