CV Radio to PA System

[CONSOLIDATED 10+ year member]

My friend and I are trying to convert his Paseo and its CV Radio into a PA Harrassment System.

If we bought a small speaker (not made for car audio), mounted that under the hood, and wired it to the CV Radio (instead of the antenna), would we be able to talk through the speaker?

Another thing, say this speaker was plastic, would we run the risk of melting the motor or anything?

Your CB set should have an 8-ohm output for a PA speaker...don't use the SO-239 connector that's for the antenna. It should have a seperate output, and a switch on the front for PA mode. If it doesn't, don't bother.

You wouldn't have a problem with the speaker or anything.
