Cutt-off Frequency question

I have a question will I damage my subs if I set the cutt-off frequency high? I have 2 15" Avalanches the cutt-off frequency in the Pioneer P80MP head unit ranges from, 50-80-125Hz and the limit I believe is +6 in each frequency. I notice I get more bass if I put it in the 80 +6 or125 +6 Hz as opposed to 50Hz. I just dont want to blow or damage my subs. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Danny

Nope , nothing wrong with doing that if you like how it sounds , I have my subs set at 80Hz and my midbass's 80 to 300Hz and mid-tweeter 300Hz and up . Before I got the mid bass's I used to run my subs up too 120Hz .

I run my subs at 63hz cutoff, with 12 db rolloff. That sounds the best to me. If you have comps that can handle it, set them 70-90 if you can.
