Yep... I have done it before and it worked fine.... If you can get to it easy try solder and then putting some shrink tubing over it... worked pretty good on a Kicker sub I had

Where are the tinsels broken? Is it near the cone? at the cone? Halfway out?

Can you easily access it with a soldering iron?
