Custom w7 dustcap

To be quite honest.. I haven't bought the lexan yet or done any part of it yet. I plan on doing it in the near future but I do have a "write-up" of the person that did the lexan dub7 if you're interested. Let me know.

Thanks! Here you go.

Actually it was real easy....I took the sub to a glass/plastics cutter (small place that does custom window cuts etc...) theny cut a circle and a "pole" that was then glued to the center of the circle...they did the measuring I picked out the stock (1/8" mirror balck lexan w/ 1/2" poly carbonate for the "pole") pull off the old dustcap glue the pole to the center of the "w" cone where the cap attaches and then glue the edge of the circle where the cap attached by the surround!
I then had a few more questions so here is the additional info he gave me..

the orignal dustcap is a "dish" that attaches on the ouside edge of the surround but also at the dead center of the "W" cone... u will be replacing the "dish" with a flat circle that is not parabolic... so the flat circle would only attach to the outside by the surround and not the "W" cone (this would cause a sever loss in cone strength) so you have to have them make the "pole" that will connect the new non-concave cap with the "W" cone... from the top it would look like this "O" from the side like a "T" new lexan on top with the pole in the middle
Hope that helps!
