custom template / design for worpress.com

anyone know how to do it? basically i just want to use the ability to post blogs through wordpress and have them show up on my website. right now im just forwarding my domain to a simple template i picked from them, but id like to be able to put together something of my own...which would be even simpler-looking (if thats even a word)

You can probably use some type of subscribe to RSS hack to do this, do you just want to post the blogs on a normal html site?

yeah...i just want to have a simple site and have the blogs post to it like i would post a music player or video player, or something like that if that makes any sense.

Well what I am confused about is you have wordpress setup now which should be where you blog to, where do you want the blogs to be posted on like myspace or a totally different site that is not running WP?

You can make your blogs RSS feeds and pull them to another blog that way

basically i just want to be able to design my own layout so i dont have to use the generic one. if that means i have to edit css in wordpress, im shit out of luck...but if i can design an html template that will allow a blogroll i'm golden. i just want the convenience of posting info through wordpress without it looking too generic.

im not exactly a wizz at webdesign which is why i want to keep things simple.

Yes you are probably out of luck unfortunately, I know a bit of CSS and XHTML but have not even touched the surface on skinning different scripts.

If you don't mind spending a little cash you can probably get someone at http://www.sitepoint.com to do a nice skin for you for a couple hundred bucks which seems to be about the norm for this type of deal and is what I paid before to get my vbulletin skinned a while back.

Best part is at sitepoint you can put the job out there and get a bunch of different options BEFORE you actually have to hire them as well as look through the designers old feedback to make sure you are getting someone who is legit.

No problem at all, like I said probably not what you wanted to hear but that way you get what you want and it will come out the way you like it the first time.

Just make sure you do some research on who you choose as in the past I used to try and get the job done cheap and ended up having to deal with little kids (without knowing) and people overseas (ie India) and it ended up being more stressful than anything.
