Yes I used a spray can (Rustoleum Professional, Gloss Black), but it looks blotchy cause its still drying.

I have seen his finished/painted box's and they look great. I dunno if he is an actual perfectionist but his enclosures make me think he is...

hey no problem, I only speak the truth! That black Octo box was amazing, until the new owner got his hands on it and beat the bag out of it... :-( still loud tho, just scratched to chit and you used scratch resistant paint!

Thats cause the new owner's a tool. He saw Dave's score and figured he'd be just as loud or louder if he used it, not even close though.

Had some time this week to work on something a little different...a single ten 1/4wave transmission line. It has a 1.3-1 taper ratio in the line and the "tuning" can be altered with the line stuffing. I tested it with the first half of the line stuffed at a medium density and it is amazing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif The sound is so clean...as tight as a sealed box but with output like a good ported box. The rolloff is much more shallow than a ported box so it plays deeper for any given "tuning".

I briefly did some SPL testing and it was louder than a lot of dual 12 setups I've metered for others! It really is the ultimate daily driver box! I like it enough that I decided it should be a finished product for a change.

I'll try to get a real finished pic after the paint and clear coat dry, cause it looks really good in person. Its Aged Iron textured paint, clearcoated.

where are the screws? Or what are you using and then making it look like it's only glued?

No screws needed with these boxes. I have one he made and that thing is more solid than a box with screws. I cut my port down a couple weeks ago and I had to cut the wood and bash the f*ck out of it to get the glue to break, the wood broke apart long before the glue let go. Definitely a top notch job building these.
