This subwoofer is freshly built on a tc sounds 3HP motor. It will take 1500w rms conservatively and has a custom made PE coil with increased winding width to allow for an additional 4mm of xmax over a stock eclipse Ti. It has the following:
New 15” Ti frame.
Direct 8 ga leads
Custom made PE 3” dual 2 ohm voice coil on black anodized aluminum former with CCA wire and black high temp coating. Aramid wrapped collar. Coil is fully black in color. This is gapped tighter than a stock eclipse Ti.
Tc sounds 3hp motor with big slug on top and small slug on bottom plate side. Holes in motor have been tapped to 1/4”-20 and all glue, oxidation etc has been lightly sanded and cleaned off. Top and bottom plates have been sprayed gloss black and motor gap has been fully cleaned. Motor is studded using 12.9 grade studs engaging all threads. 316 stainless steel nuts are used to secure frame. Custom machined spacers are used to bring the frame inline with volcano top plate for all the clearance in the world.
10” nomex spiders with dual sewn leads. Lead wires are rated to 3000+ w rms. These spiders will allow sealed or ported box use. 2.25-2.75 cubes sealed or 2.5-3 cubes ported.
Extra tall roll surrounds with dual red stitching made of rubberized foam. These are taller surrounds than a typical “tall roll”, these will allow for easily 40+mm of throw one way without crinkling. These surrounds won’t dry outCone is pressed pulp with blended in Kevlar strands. These are wicked strong cones!
