Custom fitted box single 12" ported in Acura Legend?

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of making a custom fitted box for a singe 12" type r. I want to make it a ported box. The problem is thou the box wont be a standard, cube or rectangle. Take a look at the trunk. I need the box to be set back as much as possible so it does not interfere with access to the spare tire. A sealed box is easier in this type of situation I guess, but I really want ot get the most out of what I got. I'll be powering this sub form a Rockford P4004 200Wx2 @ 4ohm .. spec sheet claims it gives out 550RMS thou.

This is my current setup thou, I hate this **** pos sub I have now (I had a 10" type r, but i blew it (it was the old kind 300W) and I had this thing layin around..

Yes, I know, not the cleanest install, but not bad for someone doing it the first time, I think. Anyway.. help me out with this enclosure guys.

A box for the single 12 wont be that heavy...cant you just lift it out of the way in case of a blow out?

lol, my first couple setups i designed my box so i spare would be availible. but now i dont even care. just call a tow truck.

Hmm.. yea true about the single box, but I would still prefer having it custom fitted.. any ideas for ported?

O.. and im sure its been discussed but, whats a good optimal enclosure size and tuned at what frequency (considering I will just build a regular box?) Ive searched the site already, but there are so many different opinions I dont know what to rely on.
