i kno, not the greatest, but got it for free...the sub is a 12" xplod w/ a 760 watt xplod amp. all speakers are jl audio and hu is pioneer. the system worked fine for 3 yrs untill now(reads current overload). last night a rechecked the ground and resecured it to the chassis. also checked all connections. as soon as i turn the HU on, the amp will power on but then go into current overload right away(the sub makes a quick thud then shuts down when the amp goes into its protection mode). all fuses are ok. The only thing i can think of is: I am running four gauge from the battery back(w/ a 32v fuse under the hood) and then a 4 gauge ground in the trunk...I then had to reduce to a 12 gauge for about 1 foot so that i could connect the power and ground wires to the amp. Ive had it this way for the past 3 years with no problems untill now. could this be part of my problem? also if the amp is bellow its limit on its output power...does that mean that the sub isnt ******* enough power from it or that the amp isnt getting enough power from the battery? thanx for any future help.
