i believe it's actually neg to pos even though most people think it's the other way around

It flows Negative to Positive in DC current and Positive to Negative in AC current.

Technically, in terms of momentum and the like, the electrons "pull" the protons. Thus, in terms of polarity, it flows negative to positive.

But, for whatever reason (probably a cruel joke by the founders, or maybe just ignorance at the beginning.) They called the true negative pole "Positive" and the true positive pole "Negative."

So, it flows positive to negative in common terms, but in terms of physics, negative to positive.

Opposite flows of opposite charges contribute to a single electric current. Negatively charged carriers (Electrons) will flow towards the positive pole and positive charged carriers (ex. ions) will flow towards the negative pole. In wires the postive charge carriers are immobile and only the electrons flow. The electron motion is opposite the direction of the conventional current. Inside lead-acid batteries: electric currents are composed of positive hydrogen ions (protons) flowing in one direction, and negative sulfate ions flowing in the other.
