Rob really is lost in his own world isn't he. I don't recall anyone saying CCA doesn't have its place or applications... hell, many high end voice coils on speakers are cca.

He has really gotten far away from his claim though that OFC is hype. He won't back that up at all but he sure is spewing out a bunch of other crap to keep this going. He has done this how many times now? Move the goalpost and keep you so far away from his screw up that everyone forgets the original screw up or just gets fed up and Rob goes on never having admitted he screwed up.

Now it appears he is an EXPERT in residential power and wiring. Has anyone ask for his credentials proving this?

Rob,
CCA is used in a lot of different industries. Most major power lines, aircrafts, and buildings. This is simply because it's cheaper and lighter. OFC has a conductivity that is almost twice that of CCA. If you wish to use 1/0 CCA instead of 2 gauge OFC, then go right on ahead. I am not one who tries to cut corners like that.

I have asked for his credentials, but he has none. He has a degree from Google University. He has the ability to find stuff that is on page 1003, of a Google Search, to prove his point.

They have a tighter jacket and the connectors. I did most of my install when I lived in So. Cal. Most of the cars I worked on were near the beach. Yes, there were a lot of 10 year+ old cars that would come in and have corroded factory wires. Mostly on starters and alternators.

However, keep telling people that pure copper will last just as long as OFC. That will let people know just how ignorant you are with automotive electronics.
