More accurately, a POTUS is held to a higher standard by the opposition party and a lower standard by his own party. Hell, the DNC wasn't even willing to hold Biden to the standard of "functioning brain."

I think this video goes a long way to explain what is happening socially, culturally and politically. It makes a ton of sense if you consider the Blue Guys are more likely to women and more likely to be college educated. Also explains the left's proclivity to want to restrict speech, redefine words, worry about what words are or aren't offensive, etc. Ironically, they say women's psychological leanings are about protecting children, however, statistically women are more likely to commit infanticide. If we include abortion or late term abortion, it's insane how murderous "the fairer gender" actually is. The feminization of k-12 education that I've witnessed it nuts.
