All you are doing is showing that you are incapable of doing simple searches to figure this stuff out for yourself. You simply buy whatever Trump tells you to believe. This is easy to find information.

When I've shown you proof of why you are wrong repeatedly, yet you continue to push the same incorrect narratives? Has nothing to do with ego. Has everything to do with facts and falsehoods. You are consistently on the side of easily disprovable falsehood such as......exporter pays the tariffs. That's unequivocally wrong.

Like I said, go educate yourself. Maybe go work on the docks importing goods. Learn a few things and come back. Hopefully you will ignore CNN, MSNBC, CBS or wherever you are getting your misinformation from.

Since you haven't been capable of dropping the false narrative that the exporting country pays the tariff.....yeah.....sorry.....but the only conclusion that I can come to is that you eat up whatever propaganda is put in front of you by Trump and the right wing media.

None of this tariff information is tough to figure out. A simply google search will provide you with the information. Yet, seeing as how it's been a week and you still haven't figured it out......the only conclusion that I can come to is that you don't really care about the truth.

You asked me this same question. Did you already forget that I screenshotted your posts where you said the Chinese exporter pays the US import tariff?

You are saying it will cost THEM an additional 125%.
THEM being the Chinese exporter.

That means NOT the IMPORTER.

So yes, you claimed that the importer does not pay the import tariff.

Highlight the words to prove THAT claim. Cause I never, not once said the Chinese exporter pays the god damn tariff.

The funniest thing about all of this is that.....you literally tried to claim (just a little bit ago) that you never said the Chinese exporter paid the tariff. And when your posts showing that you did indeed claim that the tariffs were paid by China.....you immediately went back to claiming that China pays the tariff.

Jimi. We are talking about the absolutes of math, that you claim are not absolute.
Go ahead and use your cost-sharing idea in your example calculations if you want. Even with a cost-share, the COGS on the furniture goes up.

And, we're not talking about goods that are being closed out or unloaded to make way for new stock.
No one is buying stuff from overseas so that they can unload it in a "50% OFF!" sale (after they doubled the retail price like JC Penney).

So again, using the basic calculation, please show me mathematically how you can increase the COGS and maintain markup without increasing the price and profit.

COGS x (1+MARKUP) = SELLING PRICE; SELLING PRICE - COGS = PROFIT

No, you're talking about absolutes of math and claiming that your formula and only your formula applies to everything in an insane attempt to prove profits are increased by tariffs. OTOH, I'm talking about reality and how businesses are flexible when faced tariffs and other changes. Your need to be right is blinding you to reality.

Tell me why we put Tariffs on China then tell me why they retaliate and put higher Tariffs on the US. Not on importers and exporters. There is a reason Countries get mad when Tariffs are raised on them and the two of you seem like YOUR heads are in the sand as to why.

Because IMPORTERS do not want to pay the extra costs (the tariffs) to import a product. The exporting country doesn't like tariffs because then the other country buys less.

This isn't complicated stuff (if your brain isn't super smooth).

The Importer on the US side pays the tariff TO THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT.
