Current events discussion

I see the confusion, you consider violent acts like setting cars on fire to be vandalism. Even then I don't see domestic terrorism charges.
OK. So then both Bondi and Trump have no understanding of the words "domestic terrorism" when they use them.
Just more of that political hyperbole that really means nothing.
Cool.
I guess the defendants will just go free, then?

Musk trying to gerrymander an election as he is upset that he believes someone ELSE is gerrymandering the election.
Goose, meet gander.

“We’re trying to stop the Democrats from gerrymandering Wisconsin,” he said on Fox News,

They sold 2 cars per minute, for 72 consecutive hours straight?
Amazing.
Yet for some reason, it seems like bullshit.

And ThxOne, before you jump to cry that I'm supporting a claim with a meme:
“As soon as I became Transport Minister, I asked the department to stop all payments for Tesla vehicles in order to fully examine each claim individually and determine whether all are eligible and valid,” (Canada’s Transport Minister Chrystia) Freeland said in a statement to the Toronto Star. “No payments will be made until we are confident that the claims are valid.”

But Freeland didn’t stop there.

“I also directed my department to change the eligibility criteria for future iZEV programs to ensure that Tesla vehicles will not be eligible for incentives so long as the illegitimate and illegal US tariffs are imposed against Canada” she added.
So 4 dealerships, 2 days had to sell 8,653 Teslas? Ok so that is 2,163 cars per dealership. 1,081 per day. For an 8 hour day that's 135 cars per hour. For a 12 hour day that is 90 cars per hour. For a 24 hour day that is 45 cars per hour to be sold.

What we need here is to know who they sold the Teslas to. I am guessing by volume sold, these were to be fleet vehicles. These sales could be made in hours, not days. What's the problem? Perhaps they sold them to the US government.

Jan 10-12 is three days.
72 hours = 4,320 minutes.
8,653 / 4,320 =2.00301 cars/min.
For 72 consecutive hours.

Tesla handles fleet sales directly through their website since dealerships are company-owned.

What's the problem? Fraudulent reporting of sales in order to steal government money.

I don't have very many three day weekends but ok, add another day to sell cars and it's 22 cars an hour. So you are calling fraud because you think fleet sales is ONLY an online thing... I am guessing these dealerships don't own computers... connected to routers... connected to the internet. Is it possible you are just too high strung and hell bent on wanting to label anything to do with Trump or Musk as bad that your brain is shutting down?

Two cars per MINUTE is 22 cars per hour?
What version of mathematics are you doing?

Last I checked, there are 60 minutes in an hour. 2 x 60 = 120

I'd guess they were ordered on the web. Unless something has changed Teslas are generally ordered and delivered vs the traditional car buying experience. The other possibility is rental fleet purchases. They were renting a ton of Teslas (for cheap) when I visited Scottsdale.

So you can attack the nation's Capitol in an attempt to overthrow our government and get congratulated and thanked for it, maybe even PAID for your time in jail before your pardon, but vandalizing a car dealership gets you 5-20 years?

Will Trump pardon them after their first year or two, or do you think he'll want them to serve full sentences?
Have I ever been soft on the J6 rioters? Trump can't pardon these folks if they're charged under State Laws. Since I suspect a lot of these crimes were done in Blue States, perhaps Dem Gov's will pardon them or Dem AG's will go easy on them. It's anybody's guess.

If you want to call firebombing vandalism, then go ahead. The liberal media certainly has been playing that angle, so I guess their followers are bound to follow their lead. The right certainly tried to play the J6 rioters were just tourist angle, so if you want to look as foolish as those folks, feel free to call arsonist/terrorist vandals.
