Cali makes me sad. A state with so much to see, the climate, the history. Then you get Democrats in charge who find a way to take, take, take from the people. There is NO reason on normal days the gas should cost over $4 a gallon when most of the rest of the country would pay $2.5. Tax, Tax, Tax... it's horseshit. Too many restrictions.
Back up what claim? That the gas tax break idea has the support of Republicans?

California has a whopping 2% higher tax burden than a state like South Carolina. 4% higher than the lowest tax-burden state.
A $2,000-$4,000 difference per year for a person making $100,000. I know people making $100K who will drop $10K on a wristwatch.
Anyone who can't afford the California tax rate should definitely move to any one of the cheaper states. And certainly not to any one of the 10 more expensive states. It's a good move, assuming they can make the same $100K a year in the other states, that they make in CA.
