Can somebody explain to me how Musk was liable for damages in the twitter purchase? He offer to buy at ~$45, the board accepted at ~$51 and ultimately closed at the agreed upon price of $54.20. So how were there damages? That would be like Thx agreeing to buy my old MTX 275x Gold amp for $100, then he ******* about the condition of the amp, but ultimately buys if for $100 and then I turn around and sue him for damages. WTF???

Amazing that some people think this is a success for their Orange Idiot, and an indication of prices dropping.

WAR!! We are at WAR Robert. This is what happens to the price of goods. They rise. While YOU sit there sarcastically bitching about it the rest of the rational country understands and has accepted it. Proof via the poll I shared. We are OK with it so you are basically bitching to yourself.

He artificially drove the price down so he could get in lower.

People own those stocks, not just the company.
Think of it as a city hiring a company to trash all the houses on your block just before they declare eminent domain.
Now the houses are worth a lot less that the city will have to pay. YOUR house is worth a lot less.

Would you be OK with that tactic?

How about if the buyer of your amp tricked you somehow into thinking the amp was worth less, and you dropped the price?
Would you be OK with that tactic?
