It's because most of the crude we produce needs more refining and we don't have the refineries to make it happen

The "newest" refinery in the U.S. was built in '77

A little research goes a long way buddy 🫣

Try 1975-1976 I know since it was Mobil Oil in Elwood as that is the plant my dad help build then retired from as a Lead Machinist, Head of Computer Security and 1 of 8 people who were trained to rebuild the Jet Engine from GE that produced the plants electricity. And then Marathon in 1977. No new ones built since then NOT because of the EPA but because of the Oil Companies. While they have restarted a couple here and there that closed down that doesn't mean it is a new refinery. Facts are oil refineries can run at 92% capacity safely. They are NOWHERE NEAR that close right now and haven't been in years. They've been running 50-60% if they are lucky. More oil production means lower gas prices for the consumer which the oil companies DO NOT WANT period!

2nd Oil from the Dakotas the refineries fight over because of how easy it is to refine. The by-products that are produced are not just Gasoline, 42 gallons of gasoline per 1 barrel of oil. Now when you start taking the by-products that each barrel of oil makes like Coke and other stuff. Each barrel makes a ton of money.

3rd. Nothing wrong with the oil in the country. The oil no one wants in this country is the crap from the Keystone pipeline, fracking and stuff like it. The stuff is so corrosive it destroys the pipeline and equipment like crazy. Besides only TWO refineries in the US can refine the crap from Keystone. They are both in Texas and want nothing to do with it.

Spokey fyi not taking shots at you on all this. I know we've discussed this stuff before. Just catching up a bit since I've been gone dealing with surgery and wanted a break from the non-stop BS here.

You're good buddy...I'm not delicate anyways 😂

I know the plant in Seattle got shot down for permits by epa years ago. They wanted to expand (on adjacent land they own) or add capability to refine domestic crude. My father in law has been an inspector there for 30 years or so now. By his guess it would've added at the absolute minimum 50 high paying jobs but closer to 100 by his guess

What you said made absolutely no sense. Trump did not approve the lockdowns, and he was only the leader for barely 7 months. He spoke highly against them.

I would say "Nice Try," but that was an extremely lame attempt to make a point.

Trump was our leader and Fauci was his man. He could've fired Fauci if he wanted to. He relied on Fauci throughout the pandemic. Biden was tasked to bring our country out of the lockdown occurred while Trump was in office.

I just can't with this Rob guy. He keeps asking for proof, so I show him an article from WHO, and he responds by saying they can't be trusted. Then I show him proof from the CDC, and he totally ignores it as if he never received it. I bring up CDC again, and he completely ignores it. I believe he is just a troll and is only on here to argue. Such a lonely man. I had to "Ignore" him because I just can't believe someone to be that ignorant.

Bob, if you need another coach to sleep on, I bet Rob would love to have you over.

Thanks for the support.

But Fauci wasn't "his man." Fauci was really his foil. Fauci would go on TV daily and say "lockdown, mask, social distancing." Trump (or a surrogate) would be on Fox daily saying "Lockdown bad, mask bad, social distancing bad." And it went like that for ~7-8 months until Trump lost the election.

Good luck everyone
