I feel the same. If we weren't so deep in debt it would be a less important issue (illegally "immigration" would still need to be addressed). Past the money problems with illegals...if the push to include them in the census actually happens, then we get more "representatives" in government...and the absolute last thing we need as a country is an even bigger government "wisely" bending us over on taxes to spend on bs they can later campaign on...It's a catch 22. Do I want to see a pregnant women denied her Ultrasound due to immigration status - not really. OTOH, we're encouraging women to come here and get pre/post natal care and birth right citizenship. Then that child gets access to Healthcare, education, WIC, etc. If we had a balanced budget, minimal debt, minimal homelessness, etc, then I would say we can take on this burden. Knowing that this is additional deficit spending that my children will spend a lifetime repaying, I'm not a fan of policies that result in undocumented aliens receiving benefits.
