current draw compared to watts

I am becoming more interested in the idea of ditching my merlin for competition reasons and upgrading to a larger amp. I have already got a higher amperage alternator (170, 110 at idle), the big 3, and a yellowtop optima battery. What factors could I look for when purchasing a larger amp with the electrical I have now. I know it is on the weak side for comps, but I may upgrade the alternator.

I have looked into the xx goliath, t300001bd...these amps will do about what I want them to for a street a setup. Should I look for for efficiency? I am looking for +3000 watts for two tens (burping only, will keep current setup for daily)

Any reccomendations or factors I should consider in making a selection?

If your going for a single amp setup get the biggest most powerful amp you can afford. They have all been proven to be able to burp off one battery. Goliath, Crowm, Soundstream xxx6500, memphis 4000d to name a few.

If you decide to do 2 strapped amps look more for efficiency at that point. You might want to wait till after CES and see what some companies are comming out with first though.
