you got the gist of it. they were lying about it being a cf cone anyway. its just a cosmetic layer as ramos tells it.

the guys got a point if its coil former direct to the flat plate it's going to equal fail. and if it has a cone and its just a flat cap i dont see whenre it will be much of a difference. the fail with DC is the lack of sloped top plate this just slows the air flow with the stupidly large and flat top plate. and i totally agree on the part where if rusty took a shit and slapped DC on it everyone will take a whiff or buy it. DC shit looks nice to me but i'de rather be loud with different shit than everyone else and there brother has.

I stopped reading when they started discussing the difference in 'cone area' between a flat piston sub and a conically shaped one. If that's an example of the level of knowledge on SMD, Im glad Im not a member.

I like how at the very end Thorshammer or whatever his name is tried to pull a card about Tommy posting a thread about a "prototype" woofer from Fi and how Tommy was defending it. I hope Thor sees this somehow, but split coil works (read: JBL WGTi) whereas flat cones don't.

JBL GTi uses 'differential drive', which is similar to 'split coil', but not the same. They both employ dual coils, but do it in different ways, albeit with similar effects.

first of all, rusty's stuff is awesome, second, my brother doesnt have dc and i do, so your theory is incorrect
