The design called for 8 cubes tuned to 32.something with 14.6 sq inches of port per cube. My old box was the one in my picture: 7 cubes, tuned to 35, with an octoport with about 10-11 sq inches of port per cube. With my old box, it killed the note from about 32-40 but below 32, you could hear some problems with the subs not liking it after a full tilt song or two.
But, man, with this box, even though I built it and it was my first box I've ever built that was accurate and not a total bust, it slams like crazy. All of the way from 24 to 40hz, it doesn't have a single problem with it. Once I fix this rattle in my hatch, the lows will be a lot more enjoyable but I played 26hz for an entire song and they handled it like a champ. I haven't been able to do that, ever.
TL;DR, I will never go with anyone else except him for my own designs, and that rattle is not fun.
