Try not to worry. There's probably a thousand reasons why you might have lost the weight that aren't related to cancer or anything so serious. My g/f had a similar situation a while back, doc called and said to come in to discuss her blood work in person. She was freaked out. Turns out the doctor just wanted her to be there so he could go over some medication options, nothing serious.

Found out its Diabetes. took more blood today to find out if its type 1 or 2. Most likely inherited from my dad.

I'll have it one of these days too. Runs in my family as well, and I recognize some early symptoms of it. Sorry you found out you have it, but glad it wasn't what you originally feared it would be.
