Something I explain to the people who PM me about a career in finance or graduate level finance or whatever. I suggest they take 3 challenging physics / engineering classes...if they do well, then they can do finance. Most of the models we build are structured after physics....such as options pricing models and Brownian motion.

I grew up with English bull terriers, I wouldn't mind getting one in the future sometime, but I need to be in a house first. I see people with dogs in my apartment complex, and while it might work with some breeds, terriers or Staffordshires or any dog I'd get would not do well in an apartment at all.

I don't know of many dogs where I can be gone for days and there is no problem. I don't really want to board it.

I think the cat is the best I can do...maybe the next house will "be out in the country" so it can more or less roam free.

Too much time. I wanted one bad during the summer when I had no room mates and was constantly bored. Once fall came around I was glad I didn't get one. We would of had that dog getting drunk with us.
