I tend to really like this professor though. He's quite experienced and seems to really know what the hell he's talking about compared to my past professors. And PDV is the only term I've ever heard before between all the classes I've taken.

I do not know of anyone who made more than $35k in their first job. I also assume this poor person did not recieve any raises or promotions.
Ask him why he doesn't use NPV...I am assuming they are the same. I have never seen a book that used your term.

What are the real chances that a person will only be making 35k towards the end of their career though? Of course, I don't expect to hop out of college and land a $100k job right off the back, but I hope to be making at least 60k several years down the road.

And yeah, I googled pdv and didn't find a single thing. I'm going to ask him when we have class next time. This isn't the first time I've had an econ teacher at Clemson using weird ****ing terms that no one has ever heard of.

Why use $55k? His methodology is wrong. He is doing the NPV of an annuity. Salary is not an annuity. It is discounted cash flow problem?

I understand. I'd rather be corrected than continue to misunderstand something.
