I made a $100 tip by towing a chick home 120 miles away. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/woot.gif.aaa6090e619a97b6090d16dd863c5a69.gif

I'll tell ya, normally I wouldnt give her a second look, but after riding with her for 1.75 hours her personality totally sold her. Plus she a corporate chick with moola, so that always helps.

That's much how it was with my wife.

She lives a white-collar executive life in the workplace and makes a 6-figure income.

I'm so far removed from that it's not even funny.

But, at the end of the day, to her it's just work. Work that she loves and is very good at, but still just work. It is what she does - not what she is.

Away from work? She's so easy to relate to and talk with it's frightening at times.

Well, I am biased....I married her! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

On a side note - I saw a Mustang here in town today with a Tapout decal on its back windown.

Prowler...I know you're not much with words:hilariou: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rotflol.gif.b453361716769b8110ddefc85ff03cd2.gif but would you mind telling the story again about why your wife is in Australia and why you are not there or why she is not here. I seem to have most of the story from bits and pieces but it would be nice to catch the whole story at once. Thanks

Did you see what he posted before it got deleted and he got banned?

If so I'm pretty sure I know what he was thinking...well, what he was thinking when that pic was taken at any rate //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

yeah I saw it. I posted in it. Wonder why he wanted a vacation.

Okay - Reader's Digest version ~

My wife is in Australia because she has never been anywhere else. Matter of fact of the 8 states there are in Australia she has only ever been in two of them and the one she's been in besides the one in which she resides didn't happen until my 1st trip over there to meet her in person in 2001.

We "met" originally in a Yahoo! Chat chatroom //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

After much talking online and over thousands of miles of phone cable we decided that if our r/ship was to ever proceed beyond wistful ponderings of "I wonder what it would be like if...?" that we would have to meet in person and see if we got along in each other's physical presense as well as we did online and over the phone (how many horror stories have you seen/read about someone becoming smitten by someone they know from the internet only to have it all go to hell in a handbasket once they meet in real life?)

So - I went over in 2001 to see what was what. This was after she and I communicating via the limited methods we had available up to that point for about 15 months.

Well - to make a long story short it was good enough in person that after being there with her for precisely 13 days I asked her to marry me.

So - after that trip and my subsequent return stateside we set about seeing what we would have to do to get married and one of us move countries. After we decided it made considerablely better sense for me to move there rather than her move here we went about trying to make that happen.

Well, apparently Australia is one of the if not "the") most difficult nations on the planet to acquire legal alien residency in as they are somewhat limited to the amount of tenable living space. (Nobody but the Aboriginals and the kangaroos want to live in the interior of the planet's smallest continent and it's questionable whether or not the Roos wanna be there - consequently everyone, for the most part, lives on the coast and there's only so much space available there...)

Well, we thought we had everything lined out, got the application for a fiance visa readied and sent in to their Dept Of Immigration, etc etc etc but we hadn't figured on how long it would take them to get off of their backsides and actually process it. Not knowing this we set a hard date for the wedding and got everything ready for that.

I went over a 2nd time in 2004 to make some final preparations for the wedding that required my physical presence such as signing the marriage license application and whatnot, the interview with the priest because she wanted a Catholic wedding, etc etc etc...

Well, as we had the date set for Oct of 2005 we couldn't postpone it or reschedule it so I went back in 2005 and we got married. Then went on our honeymoon and whatnot.

Unfortunately at that point our visa application still hadn't been finalized and because we were married then it became the wrong type of visa that we had applied for - I was no longer her fiance but rather her spouse.

So we've basically had to start the whole freggin process all over again applying for a spousal visa rather than a fiance visa.

So now we're playing the waiting game all over again.

I'm here because I refuse to allow her to support me financially until the visa comes through since without it I cannot legally obtain a job.

She's there because that's where her career is and as they do pay her the aforementioned 6-figure salary they expect her to actually be there to collect it.

Such is the tale of woe of Teh Prowlah (as Beat affectionately calls me) and his lovely bride. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That's awesome. Truly.

I place much value on a good marriage and the recognition of how much work it actually is. Sacrifice and compromise and actually being a team unit working towards a common goal. My older sister and I were the only people in our respective groups of friends who didn't have step-parents and we knew even back then how fortunate we were for it.

Next month Mom & Dad will have been married a mere 43 years. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/woot.gif.aaa6090e619a97b6090d16dd863c5a69.gif

So - in Prowler's book?
