You fucks Why didn't someone tell me that this weekend was daylight savings time? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
LMMFAO
IAm -- the thing that concerns me about the Lenovo we both selected is RAM upgrades. It doesn't mention the ability to upgrade.
Guess I will check out Lenovo's site to be for certain....
It will accept up to 4GB. Comes with 2GB. I am certain the ram can be removed and larger Ram implemented.

You will find with most laptops there is 2 slots for RAM. both will be filled from factory, what is in it will need to be replaced altogether not just added to.

2GB really should be enough.

If you do need more then you will have to buy 2x 2GB sticks to maximize the RAM on that machine.

Would you ever consider a refurb'd laptop?
My little brother works for a place that refurbs. Sometimes all they do is put them in another box because customers won't buy a laptop that is in a dirty box.
this is tricky. I have had good luck with refurb products before(TVs, AMps, etc) However with Laptops that is risky. I think you would find most are returned units that were returned for a reason and laptops aren't as easily or reliably repaired like a desktop. With Newegg, returning it if found defunct would be easy and painless, but in the end do you want to deal with that possible scenario. It is a higher probability of dealing with that when it comes to a refurbed laptop.
Helllll no!
I would tend to go with this thinking unless you have the time and patience to return and keep going thorugh refurbs until the gem is found //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
No point unless you are getting x64 windows. 2gb is perfectly fine in both my laptops.
Yes I have been trying to say 2GB should be enough.

Well, I'd like to spend around $500. However, it was suggested that I opt for the Core 2 Duo processor vs. a Pentium/Celeron.
I am using it for MS Office programs, surfing, and I may buy a mp3 player one day.

The one me and Iam was looking at is $700.
So no games, no video editing, no heavy movie/video watching?

LOL, I just went there to see what their cheapest C2D is.

That is 100 less flip than the Lenovo.

Should find out if either has a defeatable touchpad to make your final decision though, because I understand your hate for them. My HP has a defeatable touch pad because my thumbs will slide over it and move my cursor on me while typing. I hate that shit.
